Shumëvijëshe is an Albanian term that translates to "polygon" in English. A polygon is a closed shape in a plane made up of straight line segments. These line segments are called sides, and the points where the sides meet are called vertices. The number of sides and vertices determines the type of polygon. For example, a polygon with three sides is a triangle, a polygon with four sides is a quadrilateral, and a polygon with five sides is a pentagon.

Polygons can be classified in several ways. They can be regular or irregular. A regular polygon has all sides equal in length and all interior angles equal in measure. For instance, the sum of the interior angles of a polygon with n sides is given by the formula (n-2) * 180 degrees. Polygons are ubiquitous in art, architecture, engineering, and nature, forming the basis for more complex shapes and structures.
