scava
Scava is a form of the Italian verb scavare, meaning to dig or to excavate. Specifically, scava is the third-person singular present indicative form (lui/lei scava) and, in addition, serves as the affirmative imperative form for the second-person singular (scava! “Dig!”). The standard present tense of scavare is io scavo, tu scavi, lui scava, noi scavamo, voi scav ate, loro scavano. As a result, scava appears in everyday Italian both to describe someone digging and to give a direct command.
The verb belongs to the regular -are conjugation, and its non-finite forms include scavare (to dig), scav
In usage, scava can appear in narrative sentences like “Lui scava una buca” (He digs a hole)
