Rööpkülikute refers to parallelograms in Estonian. A parallelogram is a quadrilateral with two pairs of parallel sides. This means that opposite sides of a parallelogram are equal in length and opposite angles are equal in measure. Consecutive angles in a parallelogram are supplementary, meaning they add up to 180 degrees.

The diagonals of a parallelogram bisect each other, meaning they cut each other into two equal halves. Unlike some other quadrilaterals, the diagonals of a parallelogram are not necessarily equal in length, nor are they necessarily perpendicular.

The area of a parallelogram can be calculated by multiplying the length of one side by the perpendicular distance to the opposite side (the height). Alternatively, if the lengths of two adjacent sides and the angle between them are known, the area can be calculated using the formula Area = ab sin(θ), where 'a' and 'b' are the lengths of the adjacent sides and 'θ' is the angle between them.
