Ritselend is a fictional archipelago and coastal region used in worldbuilding and speculative fiction. It comprises three main islands—Vos, Khel, and Maer—and several smaller islets, with varied terrain that includes coastal plains, peatlands, and a central mountain spine. The Storhold Range influences local climate and settlement patterns, creating rain shadows that shape agriculture and town locations.

Etymology and language take cues from an imagined Ritser heritage, with Ritselendic as the primary regional language and several neighborhood dialects spoken by fishing and port communities.

History and politics center on maritime activity. In the early medieval period, Ritselend developed a network of port towns and trade routes. By the late medieval era, city-states formed a loose maritime confederation to manage fishing rights and navigational rules. The modern political framework is a constitutional republic with a bicameral assembly and an executive branch headed by a prime minister. The capital region hosts key administrative offices and major markets, while main ports support trade and tourism.

Economy and society focus on the sea. Major sectors include fishing, small-scale shipbuilding, processing of seaweed products, and coastal tourism. Agriculture is limited by climate and soil conditions, but hardy crops and dairy are produced in favorable pockets. The population is diverse across coastal towns and inland valleys, with cultural life centered on sea festivals, markets, and traditional crafts such as net-weaving and woodworking.
