Ribosomaalisia is a term used in Finnish to refer to ribosomal RNA, often shortened to rRNA. Ribosomal RNA is a type of RNA molecule that is a fundamental component of ribosomes, the cellular machinery responsible for protein synthesis. Ribosomes are composed of both rRNA and proteins, and the rRNA plays a crucial structural and catalytic role in the ribosome's function.

In bacteria, rRNA accounts for approximately 80% of the total cellular RNA. In eukaryotes, it constitutes a smaller proportion but remains essential.
