radiaalarterialla
Radiaalarterialla refers to the radial artery, a major artery in the forearm. It originates from the brachial artery, which is the main artery of the upper arm, and travels down the lateral (thumb) side of the forearm. The radial artery is one of the two main arteries that supply blood to the hand, the other being the ulnar artery. Its superficial location near the wrist makes it a common site for pulse taking and for arterial blood gas sampling. It also serves as a common access point for arterial line insertion in medical settings, allowing for continuous blood pressure monitoring. The radial artery further divides into smaller branches to supply blood to the muscles and tissues of the forearm and hand. Its pulsation can be easily felt at the wrist, just proximal to the carpals.
