qonunlarga

Qonunlarga is a term in Uzbek that represents the dative plural form of qonun (law). The combination of the noun’s plural suffix -lar and the dative case suffix -ga yields the meaning “to the laws” or “for the laws.” It is used to indicate the indirect object or target of an action, typically with verbs that mean to comply with or follow.

The word qonun itself is a loanword in Uzbek that originates from Arabic qanūn (قانون) and has entered Uzbek via Persian or Turkish. In Uzbek orthography, vowel harmony governs affixes, so the sequence qonun + lar + ga becomes qonunlarga.

Typical usage includes constructions such as qonunlarga amal qilmoq (to comply with the laws) or qonunlarga rioya qilish (to observe the laws). Examples: Biz qonunlarga amal qilamiz. Qonunlarga rioya qilish har bir fuqaroning majburiyatidir. The form qonunlarga is therefore a common indirect-object form in formal and legal discourse, appearing in government statements, court documents, and civic education.
