Põlemisprodutkid is the Estonian term for combustion products. These are substances that are released as a result of a combustion process, which is a rapid chemical reaction between a substance and an oxidant, usually oxygen, that produces heat and light. The specific composition of combustion products depends heavily on the fuel being burned and the conditions of the combustion, such as temperature, pressure, and the availability of oxygen.

Common combustion products include carbon dioxide (CO2) and water (H2O) when organic materials like wood, natural gas, or fossil fuels are burned completely with sufficient oxygen. However, incomplete combustion, often occurring when there is a limited supply of oxygen, can lead to the formation of other harmful substances. These can include carbon monoxide (CO), a colorless and odorless toxic gas, and particulate matter, which are tiny solid or liquid particles suspended in the air. Unburned hydrocarbons and various nitrogen oxides (NOx) and sulfur oxides (SOx) can also be produced, particularly from fuels containing nitrogen or sulfur. The study and control of combustion products are important in areas such as environmental protection, industrial safety, and the development of more efficient energy technologies.
