promielocytowej
Promielocytowa refers to a stage in the maturation of myeloid cells, specifically granulocytes. This stage is a precursor to the myelocyte and is characterized by the presence of specific granules within the cytoplasm. These granules are initially azurophilic, meaning they stain red with a Romanowsky stain, and later develop into secondary (specific) granules depending on the type of granulocyte being formed, such as neutrophils, eosinophils, or basophils. The nucleus of a promyelocyte is typically round or oval and eccentrically placed. During this phase, the cell undergoes significant changes in its protein synthesis machinery to produce the enzymes and antimicrobial substances contained within its granules. The promyelocyte stage is a critical step in the development of the innate immune system, as these cells will eventually mature into functional phagocytic cells. Abnormalities in promyelocyte development can be associated with certain hematological malignancies, such as acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL). In APL, the maturation of promyelocytes is arrested, leading to an accumulation of these abnormal cells in the bone marrow and peripheral blood.
