Precipitácia is a term used in chemistry and meteorology. In chemistry, precipitation refers to the formation of a solid, insoluble product from a solution during a chemical reaction. When two soluble compounds are mixed, and they react to form an insoluble compound, that insoluble compound separates from the liquid as a solid precipitate. This process is often used in qualitative and quantitative analysis to identify or measure the concentration of substances. In meteorology, precipitation is any product of the condensation of atmospheric water vapor that falls under gravity from clouds. The main forms of precipitation include rain, snow, sleet, and hail.
