Prípravok is a term used in Czech and Slovak pharmacology to denote a medicinal preparation intended for medical use. It refers to substances intended for diagnosis, treatment, prevention, or relief of disease or symptoms and can denote a single active substance, a combination of substances, or a finished dosage form with excipients.

Prípravok encompasses a wide range of finished dosage forms, including solid forms such as tablets and capsules; liquids such as solutions and suspensions; semi-solid forms such as ointments, creams, and gels; as well as sterile preparations like injections, infusions, and inhalation products. In clinical and pharmaceutical practice, it may also describe non-ingested topical or dermatological products.

Regulation and quality: Prípravky are manufactured to high quality standards under Good Manufacturing Practice and require regulatory authorization for market use in many jurisdictions. In Slovakia and the Czech Republic, medicines are subject to national and EU-wide rules, including safety monitoring (pharmacovigilance), labeling requirements, storage conditions, and expiration dating.

Etymology and usage: The term derives from the verb pripraviť "to prepare" and is used in official technical language as well as in everyday speech to refer to medicinal products or chemical/laboratory preparations used in healthcare.
