postovi
Postovi is a term used in several South Slavic languages to denote two distinct ideas: fasting periods and published online entries. In religious contexts, post (plural postovi) designates a period of abstaining from certain foods or pleasures according to the calendar of a faith. In Croatian, Serbian and Bosnian, postovi include Veliki post (Great Lent), Božićni post, and Uspenski post, among others. The practice is observed by adherents of Orthodox, Catholic, and other Christian traditions, though rules and duration vary. Common elements include dietary restrictions, abstinence from certain activities, and increased prayer and charity; durations range from a few days to several weeks.
In modern usage, postovi also refer to individual online entries published on blogs, forums or social networks.
