Polymerswhere is an open-access database and knowledge base for polymer materials. It aggregates structural, physical, processing, and performance data to support material selection, design, and education. The project aims for interoperability, reproducibility, and community-driven curation.

The resource covers synthetic polymers, biopolymers, and commercially important classes. Each entry includes chemical identifiers such as CAS numbers and InChI, polymer class and architecture, monomer units, and details on molecular weight distribution (Mw, Mn, Đ). Thermal properties (Tg, Tm), thermal stability, mechanical properties (Young's modulus, tensile strength, elongation), rheology, solubility, and processing windows are recorded, along with solvent compatibility, recyclability, and safety data where available. Experimental conditions and data provenance are documented to enable reproducibility.

Data quality is managed through versioning and a community editorial board that reviews new submissions. Entries include links to primary sources, such as peer-reviewed articles and vendor datasheets, and are assigned persistent identifiers. Licensing favors open-use terms to encourage broad redistribution and reproducibility.

Users can perform advanced searches by property ranges, monomer structure, or polymer architecture; visualizations of property distributions and structure–property relationships are provided. The platform supports data export, a programmable API, and cross-references to related databases to facilitate integration into modeling workflows.

Polymerswhere is used in academia and industry for material selection, computational modeling, and educational purposes. By consolidating disparate data and recording provenance, it aims to reduce time to insight and improve reproducibility in polymer science.
