plasmoniikka
Plasmonics is a field of study that focuses on the interaction between light and free electrons in metals. When light shines on a metal surface, it can excite these free electrons, causing them to collectively oscillate. These collective oscillations are known as surface plasmons. These plasmons can exhibit unique optical properties, such as the ability to confine light to dimensions much smaller than its wavelength, a phenomenon not possible with conventional optics.
This confinement of light to the nanoscale has significant implications for various technological applications. Plasmonic devices
