Piacokon is a term that refers to a traditional form of communal storytelling practiced by certain ethnic groups in the highlands of Southeast Asia. The word originates from the local lingua franca where "pia" means "to gather" and "cokon" refers to "stories" or "tales." Historically, Piacokon performances served both entertainment and educational functions, often occurring during seasonal festivals or community gatherings.

During a Piacokon session, a designated narrator, known as the "konte," recites a mixture of folklore, historical accounts, and moral lessons while accompanied by rhythmic drumming and choral singing. The structure of the narrative typically follows a four-part template: an introduction of the setting, the central conflict, the resolution, and a concluding moral. The oral tradition ensures that Piacokon stories are adaptable, allowing each performance to be tailored to the demographic and cultural context of the audience.

In contemporary times, Piacokon has gained academic interest as a model for oral pedagogy and community cohesion.
