Päämaadoitusjohdin, often translated as main earthing conductor or equipotential bonding conductor, is a critical component in electrical installations. Its primary function is to connect the main earthing terminal to the earth electrode system. This connection ensures that all extraneous conductive parts within a building or structure are brought to the same electrical potential as the earth.

The main earthing terminal serves as the central point where various earthing conductors meet. This includes the main earthing conductor, protective conductors from incoming services (like water, gas, and telecommunications), and any main equipotential bonding conductors.
