Nájomca is a Slovak term that translates to "tenant" in English. It refers to an individual or entity that rents property from a landlord. This property can be residential, such as an apartment or house, or commercial, like an office space or retail store.

The relationship between a nájomca and a prenajímateľ (landlord) is governed by a rental agreement, known in Slovak as a nájomná zmluva. This contract outlines the terms and conditions of the tenancy, including the rental amount, duration of the lease, payment schedule, responsibilities of both parties regarding maintenance and repairs, and rules for property usage.

A nájomca has the right to occupy and use the rented property as specified in the agreement. In return, they are obligated to pay rent on time, maintain the property in good condition, and adhere to any agreed-upon rules. Failure to meet these obligations can lead to consequences, such as late fees or termination of the rental agreement by the prenajímateľ.
