nukleotiidideks
Nukleotiidideks is the Estonian term for nucleotides. Nucleotides are the basic building blocks of nucleic acids, which include DNA and RNA. Each nucleotide consists of three main components: a phosphate group, a five-carbon sugar (ribose in RNA, deoxyribose in DNA), and a nitrogenous base. There are five common nitrogenous bases: adenine (A), guanine (G), cytosine (C), thymine (T), and uracil (U). In DNA, adenine pairs with thymine, and guanine pairs with cytosine. In RNA, adenine pairs with uracil, and guanine pairs with cytosine.
The sequence of these nitrogenous bases along a DNA or RNA molecule carries the genetic information. DNA
Beyond their role in genetic material, nucleotides also have other crucial functions in cells. Adenosine triphosphate
