Novinái is a coastal town and cultural region located on the southern shore of the island of Evara in the southwestern part of the fictional archipelago of Lirena. Known for its sheltered harbor, mixed agricultural and fishing economy, and distinctive local language and customs, Novinái serves as a regional center for nearby villages.

The settlement originated as a seasonal fishing encampment and developed into a permanent town in the 18th century, growing around maritime trade and the cultivation of salt-tolerant crops. Architectural influences reflect seafaring traditions, with low-rise stone and timber buildings adapted to coastal winds and periodic storms.

Economically, Novinái combines small-scale fisheries, aquaculture, and family-run farms producing citrus, tubers, and salt-processed goods. In recent decades tourism has increased, driven by coastal trails, traditional festivals, and artisanal crafts; this growth has prompted efforts to balance development with environmental protection of nearby wetlands and reefs.

Culturally, Novinái is noted for its music, boat-building techniques, and a dialect also called Novinái that incorporates elements of Evaran and wider Lirenean languages. Local festivals mark seasonal fishing cycles and agricultural harvests, featuring communal feasts and music.

The town is governed by a municipal council and connected by a single coastal road and regular ferry service to larger islands. Contemporary challenges include climate-related sea-level rise, preservation of linguistic heritage, and sustainable resource management.
