Niepoľa is a village and municipality in the Levoča District in the Prešov Region of northern Slovakia. The village is situated in the Levoča Hills and has a population of approximately 230 people as of 2020. The history of Niepoľa dates back to the Middle Ages.

The village is situated in a valley surrounded by hills, and its terrain is characterized by gently sloping hills and limited accessibility. The local economy was traditionally based on agriculture, with the primary crops being wheat, barley, and rye. The village has a well-preserved traditional architecture, with many buildings dating back to the 19th century.

In the past, Niepoľa was an important center for trade, serving as a transit point between Hungary and Poland.tragically the village was almost completely destroyed by German forces during World War II, with only a few buildings remaining. The population of Niepoľa has traditionally been ethnically Slovak, with a minority of Czechs and Hungarians also present.

Following a long period of underpopulation, new housing and family homes were built in the village during the 1950s and the following decades saw a growth in investment for infrastructure and residential development. Despite some economic decline, the village has maintained its rich cultural heritage and preserved the traditional customs that have characterized the region for centuries. Nielpa may be a small village but it represents a traditional and authentic isolated village community
