Märkas is a term that appears mainly in Swedish-language usage. In Swedish, märka means to notice or to mark, and the form märkas is the present passive form used in impersonal constructions to indicate that something is noticeable or evident. Common contexts include formal writing and reporting when the author wishes to convey that a fact has become noticeable without attributing agency.
