Mukulani

Mukulani is an island situated off the coast of Kenya. It is one of the islands positioned in the Lamu Archipelago. Geographically, it is an archipelago located off the Kenyan coast. The Lamu Archipelago is composed of numerous small and large islands. These have increased the aquatic biodiversity of the region. The Lamu Archipelago's waters are home to numerous species of coral and fish. Much like the other islands within the Lamu Archipelago, Mukulani is characterized by a tropical dry climate during the dry season and a tropical wet climate during the wet season. Agriculture is significantly water-dependent and typically subsists when there is ample rainfall.

Fisheries are an economic activity in the region, where mukulani is geo-located. Island residents have always utilized and managed the marine resources available within sight of their shores. These resources include ocean staple and competing cropping fish as well as food alternatives and also rearing and capturing these fish have provided source of household income for residents of the region.
