Monimulsioissa is a term that refers to multiple emulsions. A multiple emulsion is a dispersion of droplets within droplets. There are two main types of multiple emulsions: water-in-oil-in-water (W/O/W) and oil-in-water-in-oil (O/W/O).

Conversely, in an O/W/O emulsion, small oil droplets are dispersed within larger water droplets, and these water droplets are then dispersed in a continuous oil phase.
