metathesisreaktiosta
Metathesisreaktio, often shortened to metathesis, is a chemical reaction in which the atoms or groups of atoms in two reacting compounds switch places, forming two new compounds. This type of reaction is also sometimes referred to as a double displacement or double replacement reaction. The general form of a metathesis reaction can be represented as AB + CD → AD + CB, where A and C are cations, and B and D are anions.
Metathesis reactions are typically driven by the formation of a product that is removed from the reaction
Another common example involves the formation of a gas. If hydrochloric acid (HCl) reacts with sodium carbonate
