Methodologically, metaanalaser would extract comparable outcome measures from laser studies and model them with standard meta-analysis techniques, treating laser parameters as study-level moderators to account for variability across devices and protocols.

Potential applications include evaluating the efficacy of laser therapies, safety and efficacy of ophthalmic laser interventions, or the performance of laser-assisted imaging and manufacturing processes.

Key challenges include heterogeneity in device specifications, outcome definitions, and reporting; missing data; publication bias; and difficulties in standardizing laser parameters across studies. The concept remains tentative and would require consensus on data standards and preregistration to be practically useful.

As a conceptual framework, metaanalaser would benefit from data standardization and interdisciplinary collaboration.
