Medenceöv, or pelvic belt, is a band worn around the hips to stabilize the pelvis and the sacroiliac joints. In medical and rehabilitative settings it is used to reduce pelvic pain and improve function in conditions affecting the pelvic girdle. The term is common in Hungarian contexts and similar devices are known internationally as sacroiliac belts or maternity belts.

Most medenceöve are elastic fabric belts with a Velcro fastener, though some models use semi-rigid panels. They are placed around the lower abdomen, crossing the hips so that compression targets the sacroiliac area. Some variants include padding or additional straps for more focused support. They are designed to be adjustable and worn over underwear.

Indications include sacroiliac joint dysfunction, pelvic girdle pain during pregnancy, and post-partum stabilization. They may also be used during certain hip or lower back conditions where pelvic stabilization can reduce pain or improve gait. In practice they are used as an adjunct to physical therapy, exercise, and, where appropriate, obstetric care.

Usage considerations and safety are important. Correct sizing and placement are essential to provide beneficial support without restricting breathing or circulation. The belt should be comfortable, not cause skin irritation, and not be worn continuously without medical guidance.
