Mértékegységeivel, in English "with its units of measurement," refers to the systems and standards used to quantify physical quantities. These systems provide a common language for scientists, engineers, and everyday people to communicate measurements consistently.

The most widely adopted system is the International System of Units, or SI, derived from the French Le Système International d'Unités. SI is a modern form of the metric system and forms the basis for most scientific and commercial activities globally. It comprises seven base units: the meter for length, the kilogram for mass, the second for time, the ampere for electric current, the kelvin for thermodynamic temperature, the mole for amount of substance, and the candela for luminous intensity. All other SI units, known as derived units, are formed by combining these base units. Examples include the newton for force (kg⋅m/s²) and the joule for energy (N⋅m).

Before SI, numerous other systems existed, such as the imperial system (still used in some countries, notably the United States) and various historical metric systems. The imperial system includes units like feet, pounds, and gallons. The existence of different measurement systems has historically led to confusion and errors, particularly in international collaborations.

The concept of units of measurement is fundamental to understanding the physical world. Without them, describing the size of an object, the duration of an event, or the amount of a substance would be imprecise and subjective. The ongoing standardization of units, primarily through SI, ensures accuracy and facilitates global trade, scientific research, and technological advancement by providing a universal framework for measurement.
