Længdemål is a Danish term referring to units of length or measurement of distance. In the metric system, the primary unit of length is the meter. Various prefixes can be added to the meter to denote larger or smaller quantities, such as kilometer (1000 meters), centimeter (1/100 of a meter), and millimeter (1/1000 of a meter). These metric units are part of the International System of Units (SI), which is widely used globally for scientific and everyday purposes.

Historically, before the widespread adoption of the metric system, Denmark used a variety of local and traditional length units. These included the alen (cubit), foot (fod), and inch (tomme), which often varied in precise definition. The transition to the metric system began in the late 19th century and was largely completed by the early 20th century. Today, the meter and its derived units are the standard in Denmark. Commonængdemål in everyday Danish life include kilometers for road distances, meters for construction or room sizes, and centimeters for smaller objects. When discussing maps or distances on a larger scale, kilometers are predominantly used. For smaller, more precise measurements, centimeters and millimeters are the standard.
