L-23 is a small, rocky moon orbiting the planet Epsilon Eridani. It was discovered in 2077 by the deep-space probe *Voyager X* during a flyby mission of the Epsilon Eridani system. The moon's diameter is approximately 15 kilometers, and its surface is heavily cratered, indicating a long history of impacts. Spectroscopic analysis suggests that the moon is composed primarily of silicates and iron.

L-23 orbits Epsilon Eridani at a mean distance of 75,000 kilometers. Its orbital period is approximately 3.2 Earth days. The moon is tidally locked to its host planet, meaning one side perpetually faces Epsilon Eridani. Due to its small size and lack of atmosphere, L-23 has no significant geological activity. Temperatures on its surface fluctuate dramatically between the sunlit side and the dark side, ranging from approximately 150 Kelvin to 30 Kelvin.

The discovery of L-23 was part of a broader survey of the Epsilon Eridani system, which is known to host at least one exoplanet, Epsilon Eridani b, and a substantial debris disk. L-23's composition provides clues about the formation and evolution of the Epsilon Eridani system. Further study of L-23 is planned through remote sensing and potential future sample return missions. The moon's designation, L-23, follows the standard astronomical convention for minor bodies discovered within a planetary system.
