Lodewyk (also known as Loys or Lodewijk) was a Dutch nobleman and military leader, member of the noble House of Wittelsbach.

Lodewyk, whose parentage is not precisely known, began his career as a mercenary and served in several foreign armies, including the French and Burgundian. His military skills caught the attention of the Duchy of Burgundy, which recruited him to fight on their behalf. Lodewyk gained recognition for his prowess as a commander and strategist, and he rapidly rose through the ranks, becoming the Count of Nevers.

During the French-Burgundian Wars, Lodewyk played a key role as a military leader, acting as the vanguard of the Burgundian army in several battles. He notably displayed bravery and tactical acumen in multiple conflicts.

Lodewyk passed into historical record as a ruthless and effective military leader. Apart from any potential notoriety for his high-stakes military actions, historical documentation about his private life remains scarce.

Lodewyk's involvement in the Amboise conspiracy in 1491 may have influenced some accounts of his final years, during which his provisory role put him at odds with Charles VIII.
