Lihassäie is the Finnish term for a muscle fiber. Muscle fibers are the basic cellular units of skeletal muscle tissue. They are long, multinucleated cells that are responsible for generating the force required for movement. Each muscle fiber is a single cell, but it is exceptionally long, sometimes spanning the entire length of a muscle.
These fibers are bundled together to form muscles. Within each muscle fiber are thousands of smaller structures
Muscle fibers can be broadly classified into different types based on their contractile speed and metabolic
