Käyttöturvallisuustiedote, often abbreviated as KTT, is a Finnish term referring to a Safety Data Sheet (SDS). It is a document that provides comprehensive information about a chemical substance or mixture and its potential hazards. The primary purpose of a KTT is to inform users, such as employees and employers, about safe handling, storage, and disposal procedures. This helps to prevent accidents, injuries, and environmental damage.

A typical KTT includes 16 sections, covering aspects like identification of the substance and supplier, hazard identification, composition/information on ingredients, first-aid measures, fire-fighting measures, accidental release measures, handling and storage, exposure controls/personal protection, physical and chemical properties, stability and reactivity, toxicological information, ecological information, disposal considerations, transport information, regulatory information, and other relevant information.

The content of a KTT is based on scientific data and regulatory requirements, ensuring that users have access to accurate and up-to-date information. Employers are legally obligated to provide KTTs for hazardous chemicals used in the workplace and to ensure that employees are trained on how to understand and use them. These documents are crucial for risk assessment and the implementation of appropriate safety measures in various industries and workplaces where chemicals are handled.
