Kvanttihäilyttely, known in English as quantum entanglement, is a physical phenomenon that occurs when a pair or group of particles is generated, interacts, or shares spatial proximity in such a way that the quantum state of each particle cannot be described independently of the state of the others, even when the particles are separated by a large distance. Instead, a quantum state must be described for the system as a whole.

When the quantum states of two or more objects are linked, measuring a property of one object instantaneously influences the corresponding property of the other(s), regardless of the distance separating them. This correlation is stronger than what can be explained by classical physics. Albert Einstein famously described this as "spooky action at a distance."

Entanglement is a fundamental resource in quantum information science. It is essential for quantum computing, quantum cryptography, and quantum teleportation. While the exact mechanism behind entanglement is still a subject of ongoing research, its existence has been experimentally verified numerous times. The principles of quantum mechanics, including entanglement, challenge our everyday intuition about how the world works.
