kristallkärna
kristallkärna refers to the initial nucleus or seed upon which a crystal grows. In the process of crystallization, a stable, ordered arrangement of atoms or molecules begins to form. This initial aggregate, the kristallkärna, is crucial because it provides the template for subsequent growth. Once a kristallkärna reaches a certain critical size, it becomes energetically favorable for more atoms or molecules from the surrounding solution, melt, or vapor to attach to it, extending the crystal lattice.
The formation of a kristallkärna can occur through two primary mechanisms: homogeneous nucleation and heterogeneous nucleation.
