kokee
Koke’e, or Koke’e State Park, is a protected area on the island of Kauai, Hawaii. Located in the island's northwest highlands above Waimea Canyon, it forms part of the Kauai mountain terrain, with elevations ranging from low foothills to alpine-like peaks. The park preserves native dry and mesic forest and protects numerous native Hawaiian plant species, including koa and ʻōhiʻa lehua (Metrosideros polymorpha), as well as many endemics that occur nowhere else. The higher elevations harbor a cloud forest ecosystem and contribute to watershed protection on Kauai.
