Kobbertab is a Danish term that translates to "copper loss" in English. It refers to the energy lost as heat in electrical conductors, particularly copper wiring, due to the resistance of the material. This phenomenon is an inherent consequence of transmitting electrical current through any conductor.

The amount of copper loss is directly proportional to the square of the current flowing through the conductor and the conductor's resistance.
