Itautuas are a type of traditional dwelling found among indigenous Amazonian communities, particularly the Yanomami people. These structures are large, communal houses that serve as the central hub for village life. Typically circular or rectangular in design, they are constructed from natural materials readily available in the rainforest, such as palm leaves, wood, and thatch. The roofs are often steeply pitched to shed heavy rainfall, and the walls are usually open or have minimal enclosure, allowing for ventilation.
