interfalangeaal
Interfalangeaal is a term used in anatomy and medicine to describe structures or relationships located between the phalanges. The phalanges are the bones of the fingers and toes. Therefore, interfalangeal refers to the joints that connect these bones. There are two main types of interfalangeal joints in each digit (except the thumb and big toe, which have only one). These are the proximal interfalangeal (PIP) joints, located between the first and second phalanx of a digit, and the distal interfalangeal (DIP) joints, located between the second and third phalanx. The thumb and big toe have only a single interfalangeal joint, which corresponds to the distal interfalangeal joint of other digits.
These joints are classified as hinge joints, allowing for flexion and extension. The movement at the interfalangeal
