Infusion sets, sometimes referred to as IV administration sets, are disposable medical devices used to deliver fluids and medications from an IV source to a patient via a venous catheter. They consist of a sterile tubing assembly that connects to an IV bag or bottle, a spike to pierce the container, a drip chamber to regulate flow, a connector to the catheter, and a roller clamp or other flow control. Many sets include an injection port or luer connector and may feature a Y-site for simultaneous administration or a needleless access point.
