Imunofluorescenca is a laboratory technique used to detect and locate specific antigens or antibodies within a sample. There are two main types of immunofluorescence: direct and indirect. In direct immunofluorescence, the primary antibody, which is specific to the target antigen, is directly conjugated with a fluorophore. This method is simpler and faster but can be less sensitive. Indirect immunofluorescence involves using a primary antibody that is not labeled, followed by a secondary antibody that is conjugated with a fluorophore. The secondary antibody binds to the primary antibody, amplifying the signal and increasing sensitivity.

Immunofluorescence has diverse applications in diagnostics and research. It is widely used in clinical settings to diagnose infectious diseases, autoimmune disorders, and certain cancers by identifying specific pathogens or autoantibodies in patient samples.
