Homogeneita, or homogeneity in English, refers to the property of being uniform in composition or character throughout an object or system. It is contrasted with heterogeneity, where components vary by region or phase.

In mathematics, a function is homogeneous of degree k if, for all scalars t, f(t x1, ..., t xn) = t^k f(x1, ..., xn). Homogeneous functions include power laws and homogeneous polynomials; in projective geometry, homogeneous coordinates are used to represent points at infinity.

In chemistry and materials science, a substance or mixture is homogeneous if its composition and properties are the same everywhere within the sample. Common examples are solutions like salt in water or air; by contrast, emulsions, suspensions, and alloys with distinct phases are heterogeneous.

In statistics, homogeneity often refers to homoscedasticity: the variance of a variable is the same across levels of a factor. Violations can affect inference; tests include Levene’s, Bartlett’s, and White's tests.

In physics and cosmology, the cosmological principle states that the universe is homogeneous and isotropic on large scales; locally, matter can cluster into stars and galaxies.

Assessing homogeneity is important for modeling and analysis, as assuming uniformity simplifies calculations but may not reflect real systems. Methods exist to test, adjust for, or enforce homogeneity when appropriate.
