Gázállapotban refers to the gaseous state of matter in Hungarian. In physics and chemistry, a gas is a state of matter that has no fixed shape and no fixed volume. It expands to fill its container. The particles in a gas are widely separated and move randomly and rapidly.

The transition from a liquid or solid to a gas is called vaporization or boiling. Conversely, the transition from a gas to a liquid is called condensation, and from a gas to a solid is called deposition. These transitions occur at specific temperatures and pressures.

The behavior of gases can be described by gas laws, such as Boyle's Law, Charles's Law, and the Ideal Gas Law. These laws relate the pressure, volume, temperature, and amount of gas. For example, the Ideal Gas Law states that the pressure of a gas is directly proportional to its temperature and the amount of gas, and inversely proportional to its volume.

Gases are essential in many natural phenomena and industrial processes. The atmosphere, composed primarily of nitrogen and oxygen, is in a gaseous state. Many chemical reactions occur in gaseous phases, and gases are used in engines, balloons, and as refrigerants. Understanding the properties of matter in a gaseous state is fundamental to many scientific disciplines.
