glomerulosacellerna
Glomerulosacellerna, also known as glomerular mesangial cells, are specialized cells found within the glomerulus of the kidney. The glomerulus is a network of tiny blood vessels where filtration of blood occurs to form urine. Glomerulosacellerna are located in the central area of the glomerulus, between the glomerular capillaries, and they also form a continuous layer along the outer surface of these capillaries.
These cells have a unique structure, possessing contractile properties due to the presence of actin and myosin
Beyond their structural and regulatory functions, glomerulosacellerna are involved in the immune response within the glomerulus.
