fülakusztika
Fülakusztika, also known as acoustic otoscopy or impedance audiometry, is a diagnostic tool used in audiology to assess the middle ear function and the integrity of the tympanic membrane. It is a non-invasive test that measures the acoustic impedance of the middle ear system. The examination involves introducing a small probe into the ear canal. This probe emits a pure tone and also measures the volume of the ear canal, the compliance of the tympanic membrane, and the pressure within the middle ear. The results are displayed as a graph called a tympanogram. Different shapes and patterns of the tympanogram can indicate various conditions, such as middle ear fluid, tympanic membrane perforation, or ossicular chain discontinuity. Fülakusztika is a crucial part of a comprehensive hearing evaluation, providing objective information about the mechanical properties of the middle ear. It is particularly useful in identifying conductive hearing loss, which arises from problems in the outer or middle ear. The test is quick, painless, and can be performed on patients of all ages, including infants.
