Földgázszállítás, or natural gas transportation, refers to the process of moving natural gas from its point of extraction to consumers. This is a complex logistical operation involving extensive infrastructure.

The primary method offöldgázszállítás is through a vast network of pipelines. These pipelines can be onshore or offshore, varying in diameter and length depending on the volume of gas to be transported and the distances involved. Compressors are strategically placed along the pipeline routes to maintain the necessary pressure for gas flow.

In addition to pipelines, liquefied natural gas (LNG) plays an increasingly important role. Natural gas is cooled to a very low temperature, approximately -162 degrees Celsius, at which point it liquefies and its volume is significantly reduced. This allows for transportation by specialized ships over long distances, particularly across oceans where pipelines are not feasible. Upon arrival at its destination, the LNG is regasified before being fed into the distribution network.

Companies responsible for transportation often operate as transmission system operators (TSOs), managing the flow and capacity of the network.
