Fototrofiska is a term describing organisms that obtain energy from light. These organisms, known as phototrophs, utilize a process called photosynthesis to convert light energy into chemical energy, typically in the form of glucose. This chemical energy then fuels their metabolic activities. The most well-known phototrophs are plants, algae, and cyanobacteria.

Photosynthesis involves pigments like chlorophyll, which absorb light energy.
