Fibrosiaatiota is a Finnish term that translates to "fibrosis" in English. It refers to the development of excess fibrous connective tissue in an organ or tissue in a pathological process. This thickening and scarring of tissue occurs as a result of injury or chronic inflammation.

When tissues are damaged, the body's natural healing response involves the production of collagen, a protein that forms scar tissue. In normal healing, this process is controlled and eventually stops. However, in conditions leading to fibrosis, this process continues excessively. This excess collagen can disrupt the normal structure and function of the affected organ or tissue.

Fibrosiaatiota can affect various organs, including the liver (cirrhosis), lungs (pulmonary fibrosis), kidneys (renal fibrosis), and heart. The symptoms and severity depend on the location and extent of the fibrosis. Common causes include chronic infections, autoimmune diseases, exposure to certain toxins, and prolonged inflammation.
