Fibrogenezí refers to the process of formation of fibrous connective tissue. This is a fundamental biological process that occurs in response to injury, inflammation, or as a normal part of tissue development and repair. Fibroblasts, specialized cells within connective tissue, are the primary actors in fibrogenesis. Upon receiving signals, fibroblasts proliferate and differentiate into myofibroblasts, which are contractile cells.
These cells then synthesize and secrete extracellular matrix components, particularly collagen and elastin. Collagen provides tensile
