eläkekertymään
Eläkekertymä refers to the total amount of pension earned by an individual throughout their working life, which forms the basis for their future pension payments. In Finland, this concept is central to the earnings-related pension system. Pension accrues annually based on the individual's earned income up to a certain ceiling. For those born in 1957 or later, the accrual rate is 1.5% per year of employment up to the age of 63. For those born between 1950 and 1956, the accrual rate was 1.7% for the years of employment between 1996 and 2016, and 1.5% thereafter. Older individuals have different accrual rates based on the pension legislation applicable during their working years.
