Ehdotuslainsäädäntö refers to legislative proposals in Finland. It is the process by which new laws or amendments to existing laws are introduced into the Finnish Parliament, known as the Eduskunta. The journey of a legislative proposal begins with its initiation, which can come from the government, a parliamentary committee, or individual members of Parliament. The government is the most frequent initiator of legislative proposals.
Once a proposal is formulated, it is submitted to Parliament. It then undergoes a thorough review process.
For a legislative proposal to become law, it must be approved by a majority of the members
